Coronavirus: HomeBuilder Grant Program
Have you always wanted to renovate the bathrooms? Thought about extending the house? Adding a second storey? Now is the time with the Federal government’s HomeBuilder grant! According to Domain’s findings[1], some builders have seen an increase in enquiries of up to 30%. Let Corona Projects help you unlock the potential of your property.
What is the HomeBuilder Program?
The HomeBuilder program aims to assist Australians in undertaking building and renovation works. Providing $25,000 tax-free to Mum and Dad builders across the country, the grant supports those building a new principle place of residence or undertaking substantial renovations. It is federal stimulus package designed to help you start those renovation / building plans you have had on the backburner. It can be complimented with other state-based programs such as:
- First Home Buyer’s New Home Scheme
- Stamp Duty Exemption
- Commonwealth First Home Loan Deposit Scheme
- First Home Super Saver Scheme
Am I eligible?
You are eligible for the scheme if you are an Australian citizen and you meet either of the following conditions:
- You will build a new home where your property value does not exceed $750,000,
- The renovation value will be between $150,000 and $750,000 where the pre-renovation value of house and land does not exceed $1.5 million,
and have a taxable income of less than $125,000 for singles or $200,000 for couples.
You must also be the owner building a principle place of residence, as a title deed is required to access the grant.
If you are eligible, you MUST have a contract signed with a licenced builder between the 4th of June and the 31st of December. Construction must then commence within three months of the contract date.
“There has been a remarkable increase in enquiries after the announcement of the scheme,” says Town Planner Emma Rogerson, so do not hesitate to contact us if you think you may eligible.
